Oraine Frater and Tara Price, who are with the UK touring company, Samantha Strachan from The Lion King in Spain, and Benton Morris and Gavin Hart from the international touring company based in Asia had a meet up at a Corporate Area restaurant to trade stories from their work with the the show which is Broadway’s third longest-running show in history, and has grossed more than $1 billion, making it the highest grossing Broadway production of all time. Recently five Jamaicans who are presently contracted to various Lion King touring companies met up in Kingston for an opportunity to share their experiences. During this time a number of Jamaicans have performed as members of the cast for various touring companies all over the world. Renowned Jamaican-born Garth Fagan choreographed the hit production which has been running at theatres globally since 1994. Jamaica has had a long history with the award-winning Disney musical The Lion King.
